Matthew 5:9 (NIV) “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Today’s Scripture Lesson
Peace isn’t the absence of conflict, it’s the presence of God in the midst of it. Jesus elevates the role of peacemakers, not peacekeepers. A peacemaker actively seeks reconciliation, healing, and restoration.
In a world divided by opinions, backgrounds, and brokenness, God calls His children to be bridge-builders. Peacemaking can be hard. It often means letting go of pride, extending grace, and stepping into uncomfortable conversations. But when we do, we reflect our Father in heaven. As His children, we are marked by His character, and He is the ultimate Peacemaker.
How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life
- Ask yourself in tense moments: “How can I be a peacemaker here?”
- Be quick to forgive: and slow to take offense.
- Promote unity: in your family, workplace, and community through humility and love.
Prayer
Father, help me be a peacemaker like You. Give me the courage to heal wounds, restore relationships, and reflect Your love in a divided world. Amen.
