John 1:12 (NIV) “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

Today’s Scripture Lesson

Being a child of God is not just a title—it’s a transformation. John 1:12 beautifully expresses the heart of the Gospel: when we receive Jesus and believe in His name, we are welcomed into God’s family. It’s not about earning or proving ourselves. It’s about receiving the gift of grace.

Imagine an orphan adopted into a loving home—not because they earned it, but because they were chosen. That’s how God loves us. When we believe in Christ, we receive a new identity and inheritance. We are no longer strangers we belong. This truth changes everything: how we pray, how we live, and how we love.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

Remind yourself daily: “I am a child of God fully loved, fully accepted.”

Approach God in prayer with boldness: knowing you are part of His family.

Reflect God’s love: by treating others with the same grace He’s shown you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of belonging. I receive Your love and accept my place as Your child. Help me live each day in that truth. Amen.
