Falling Short, but Not Forgotten

Falling Short, but Not Forgotten

Romans 3:23 (NIV) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Today’s Scripture Lesson

It’s easy to compare ourselves to others and think we’re doing alright. But Romans 3:23 levels the playing field: all have sinned. Every one of us has missed the mark. This could feel discouraging but it’s actually the doorway to grace.

This verse prepares our hearts to receive the Gospel. Recognizing our sin isn’t about shame. It’s about seeing our need for a Savior. When we understand our inability to save ourselves, we can truly appreciate the gift of salvation through Jesus. God sees our failures, but He also offers forgiveness.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

Acknowledge your need for grace daily: confessing and repenting with a humble heart.

Offer that same grace to others: no one is perfect, and all are in need of mercy.

Thank God regularly for the gift of Jesus: who bridges the gap we could never cross.

Prayer

Father, I confess that I’ve fallen short. Thank You for loving me anyway and for offering grace through Jesus. Help me walk humbly in Your mercy. Amen.
