God Goes Before You

God Goes Before You

Thursday, September 18, 2025

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” — Deuteronomy 31:8

Today’s Scripture Lesson:

Job transitions can be one of life’s most stressful and uncertain experiences. Whether you’ve left a position voluntarily or unexpectedly, the question lingers: What’s next? During such times, fear can creep in—fear of rejection, fear of failure, or fear of the unknown.

In Deuteronomy 31, Moses is preparing the Israelites to enter the Promised Land without him. He reminds them that although leadership is changing, God remains constant. “The Lord himself goes before you…” These words are packed with assurance. God doesn’t just watch from afar—He leads the way, preparing opportunities and aligning circumstances before you even take a step.

Finding a new job isn’t just about resumes, interviews, or networking. It’s a spiritual journey of trust. It’s a time to remember that your identity and provision come from the Lord, not a job title. He knows your needs, your gifts, and your heart’s desires.

Let this be a season where you not only pursue employment but also lean into God's promises. When the doors you hope for don’t open right away, trust that the right door—His door—is still ahead. His timing is perfect, and His plan is good.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life:

  1. Start each job search session in prayer: Ask God to guide your steps and open the right doors.
  2. Speak this verse over your life daily: Let God’s promise of presence replace your fear with faith.
  3. Look for opportunities to grow: Use this time to develop skills, serve others, or rest as you wait.

Prayer:

Lord, as I walk through this season of transition, I ask for Your peace to fill my heart. Go before me into every conversation, application, and interview. Remind me that I am not alone and that You are preparing something good. Give me wisdom, confidence, and courage to walk through the doors You open. In Jesus’ name, amen.
