“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)
Today’s Scripture Lesson:
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Difficult seasons, disappointments, and struggles may leave us feeling drained and discouraged. Yet, in the middle of sorrow, Lamentations 3:22-23 offers a beautiful reminder of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness.
These verses were written during a time of grief and loss for the people of Israel. Despite the suffering around him, the prophet Jeremiah clung to hope because he knew God’s love and mercy would never fail.
The phrase “His compassions never fail” means that God’s mercy is unending and inexhaustible. No matter how broken we feel or how far we’ve fallen, His mercy is available to us each and every day. Just as the sun rises faithfully each morning, so does God’s love and grace.
Think of waking up to a clean slate every morning—no matter what yesterday held, today is an opportunity to experience God’s renewal. His faithfulness is not based on our performance but on His unchanging character.
When we face trials, we can rest in the truth that God’s love sustains us. He doesn’t abandon us in our struggles but walks with us, offering compassion and strength to carry on.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and mercies that are new every morning. When I feel weak, remind me of Your faithfulness and compassion.
