God Saw That It Was Very Good

God Saw That It Was Very Good

Tuesday, December 2, 2025

Genesis 1:31 (NIV) “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”

Today’s Scripture Lesson

From the very beginning, God declared His creation “very good.” That includes the mountains and oceans, the stars and animals—but most significantly, humanity. This verse reminds us that we were created intentionally, beautifully, and with purpose. In a world that often tells us we are not enough, Genesis 1:31 counters with divine affirmation: God saw you—and He called you very good.

So many of us struggle with self-worth. We compare, compete, and chase perfection. But in God’s eyes, your existence itself is already a sign of His goodness. You were not an afterthought. You are part of His masterpiece. This truth should shape how we see ourselves and others. When we grasp this, we live not for approval, but from a place of God-given worth.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

  1. Begin your day affirming your value in Christ by declaring: “I am God’s creation, and He called me very good.”
  2. Treat yourself and others with dignity: remembering that every person reflects God’s intentional design.
  3. Reject lies that say you’re not enough: stand on God’s truth that you were made good by a good Creator.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for creating me with care and calling me very good. Help me see myself through Your eyes and honor others as Your masterpieces too. Amen.
