Living for God's Glory

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)

Today’s Scripture Lesson

It’s easy to think that only big moments—such as church service, mission work, or acts of charity—bring glory to God. But 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us that even the most ordinary actions—eating, drinking, daily work—can be done for His glory.

Paul wrote this verse to encourage believers to consider their actions, especially in how they affected others. He wanted them to live in a way that honored God in all aspects of life. This means that glorifying God isn’t just about what we do on Sundays—it’s about how we live every single day.

Glorifying God means:

  • Living with integrity in how we speak, work, and treat others.
  • Choosing gratitude in simple things like meals and daily blessings.
  • Serving others selflessly, reflecting Christ in our actions.

Every action, no matter how small, can be an act of worship when done with a heart that seeks to honor God. Whether you're at work, spending time with family, or simply going about your day, live with the purpose of bringing glory to Him.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

  1. Be Mindful of Your Actions: Ask yourself, “Does what I’m doing reflect God’s love and truth?”
  2. Honor God in the Small Things: Even daily routines, conversations, and choices can be opportunities to glorify Him.
  3. Live with Purpose: Seek to make every part of your life a reflection of His goodness and grace.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Help me to live every moment for Your glory. Teach me to honor You not just in big moments but in the small, everyday choices I make. May my words, actions, and thoughts reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
