Romans 5:1 (NIV) "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Today’s Scripture Lesson

Romans 5:1 is one of the most reassuring verses in Scripture. It tells us that because of our faith in Jesus Christ, we are no longer at odds with God. The war is over. We are justified—declared righteous in His sight—and that means we can now live in peace, not fear.

This peace is not merely a feeling; it's a fact. It's the foundation for our relationship with God. We are no longer striving to earn His approval. Through Christ, we have already received it.

This kind of peace transforms how we face life. Even in trials, we can stand firm, knowing we are secure in God’s love. Peace with God leads to peace within and peace with others.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

  1. Rest in Your Justification: Don’t strive for approval—accept the righteousness Jesus gave you.
  2. Live From a Place of Peace: Let God’s peace shape your thoughts, decisions, and relationships.
  3. Share the Peace of Christ: Be a peacemaker and offer the message of reconciliation to others.

A Prayer for Today

Jesus, thank You for making peace between me and God. I receive that peace and choose to live in it today. Let it quiet my fears and lead me to share Your love with others. In Your name, Amen.
