Exodus 14:13 (NIV) “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.’"
Today’s Scripture Lesson
The Israelites stood at the edge of the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them. Panic would be understandable. But Moses delivered this powerful message: “Stand firm.” In other words, don’t run, don’t panic, and don’t give up. God is about to act.
This verse is a reminder that when life backs us into corners, God is not absent. He is about to deliver us in ways we could never imagine. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not movement, but stillness—trusting that God will fight for us.
How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life
- When fear arises, pause and declare: “I will not be afraid. I will stand firm.”
- Reflect on past moments of God’s faithfulness: to strengthen your trust in the present.
- Resist the urge to act out of panic: wait and watch for God’s deliverance.
Prayer
Lord, when fear surrounds me, help me stand firm. Strengthen my trust and remind me that You are the God who delivers. Amen.
