“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” – Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV)
Today’s Scripture Lesson
The Christian life is not without battles. Every day, we face spiritual opposition—temptation, doubt, fear, and struggles that seek to weaken our faith. Ephesians 6:10-11 reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves but from the Lord.
Paul urges believers to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. This means we don’t fight spiritual battles on our own—God equips us with everything we need to stand firm.
One of the ways God strengthens us is through the armor of God. This armor includes truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Just as a soldier would never enter battle unprotected, we must daily “put on” the armor God has provided so that we can stand against the schemes of the enemy.
The enemy wants to discourage, deceive, and distract us from God’s truth. But when we rely on God’s power and His armor, we can stand firm and walk in victory.
How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life
- Rely on God’s Strength: Remember that true strength comes not from your own abilities, but from God’s power working in you.
- Put on the Armor of God Daily: Stay rooted in truth, righteousness, faith, and God’s Word to stand strong against spiritual attacks.
- Be Alert and Stand Firm: Recognize the schemes of the enemy and fight back with prayer and Scripture.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for being my source of strength. I put my trust in Your mighty power. Help me to put on Your full armor each day so that I can stand firm against the enemy’s attacks. Strengthen my faith and guide me in truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
