The Lord: Our Strong Tower

Monday, March 3, 2025

“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)

Today’s Scripture Lesson

Life can be unpredictable and filled with challenges that leave us feeling vulnerable and afraid. In Proverbs 18:10, we are reminded that God Himself is our place of safety. The verse describes His name as a fortified tower, a place of protection that we can run to in times of trouble.

In ancient times, strong towers were built as places of refuge. When enemies approached, people would run to these fortified structures for safety. Likewise, when we face trials, we can run to the Lord, knowing He is our protector and defender. His name represents His character—His power, faithfulness, and unchanging nature.

This verse does not promise a life free from hardship, but it assures us that when we turn to God, we will find refuge in Him. Whether you are facing uncertainty, fear, or difficulty, you can trust that He is your safe place. Instead of relying on your own strength, run to Him in prayer, lean on His Word, and rest in His unfailing love.

How to Apply This Scripture Passage to Your Life

Seek refuge in God daily: Turn to Him in prayer and worship, knowing He is your source of strength and protection.

Trust in His name: Remember that His name represents His power, faithfulness, and love. Call upon Him in every situation.

Let go of fear: Instead of relying on your own strength, rest in the assurance that God is your strong tower and will never fail you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for being my strong tower and my place of refuge. When I feel weak or afraid, help me to run to You and trust in Your protection. Remind me that Your name is powerful, and in You, I am always safe. Strengthen my faith and help me to rest in Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
